I would also like to report that the Quilt In for "Australian Quilts of Valour" (join us on face book!) was a very successful day and Wyn and Helen C. are continuing to request the pillow slips - details of pattern were on our previous month's blog. I was at my(younger) sister's 60th birthday party so was unable to attend, but would highly recommend these Quilt In - they are lots of fun and are a great help for this wonderful cause.
And now we have Show and Tell
Shirley has been working on a Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt you can see the lovely subtle fabrics she is using, both in the one she was working on and also the other blocks on her phone. it will make a beautiful quilt.
Bev also has made this beautiful quilt to raffle with Spa Quilters for fostered children in the Daylesford/Ballarat region. Bev was telling us about the "Quilts of Love" made by Spa quilters - 24" x 24". We will get details more about those so we can contribute to this cause which is close to many of our hearts.
Don't you love the 30's fabrics?
Here is a very lively looking bag - made, I think, by Virginia. Very noice.
Bar has made this beautiful "Bali bag" it is a great pattern to make with a jelly roll and you can make it in different sizes - looking good!
Now, Very Important Request -so sorry for the late notice - but squished as we are between the Melbourne Cup and Oaks Day for our next meeting THIS TUESDAY 4TH NOVEMBER. I felt we should have a little competition with racing head wear - be is fascinators (unfascinators), your old garden hat or something swish, there will be prizes for different categories. All you need is an old hat, or a round piece of cardboard or something else, a glue gun or a stapler and an imagination! Please have a go - I don't want to win all the prizes.
Sorry (as always) for the lateness of this blog - hope to see you with your racing bling on your heads (or anywhere you like) on Wednesday - that is THIS COMING WEDNESDAY - ONLY 3 DAYS AWAY.
