What a fun day we had! We raised money with our “Cuppa for Cancer” Biggest morning tea. There was a raffle with lots of prizes and a door prize as well – won by a lucky Jeanette, and we have a class with the lovely Miriam Blight as well.
As usual I didn’t take a picture early enough – as some of our morning tea had already mysteriously disappeared, but trust me, it was a fine spread.
some of our great door prizes!
A corner of the room was set up for our mice class – those who did it got a really cute thread holder and - if you are game enough to stab it – a pin cushion as well.
First we lined up all the finished mice, then they separated into groups to gossip, and then, I do hate to say this, a skirmish occurred! If you receive one of these cute critters from your Secret Santa, you can be sure she was at Carrum Downs today!
Some show and tell: Wendy, back from sailing the high seas, with her crocheted lap quilt. Bar with her colourful Bonnie Hunter “Stepping Stones”, and her very cute Cat quillow from Bunny Hill.
Here is a Waverley Gift quilt shown by Jo. Beautiful bright fish! Waverley quilters donated 52 gift quilts last month alone! And Jenny brought along a lovely bright bag she had made.
Here is Robyn delightful stable bag, and look - it has had a baby! The gorgeous green one is Di’s.
And a look at a new book in our library, plus a book I brought in to show everyone on Russian pre-revolutionary clothing.
And that is it until Wednesday 3rd of July and then, please don’t forget our pre- pre- retreat special Carrum Downs get together on Wednesday 17th of July – should be lots of fun!
