February 2012

Our first meeting for 2012 has been held.  We met at Lyrebird Community Centre in Carrum Downs.

There was lots of chatter with everyone catching up and comparing holiday notes.
Some interesting Show and Tell for February.

Frances made these stunning bags for her older and younger sisters. It's called the Paddington satchel.

Wow!! We have been watching this Dear Jane grow beautifull over that last 9 years. The first border is on.........shouldn't be too much longer now.

Bar - the Hexagons continue....I think this WILL end up a quilt

Wyn showed us a quilt made by a lady from Bay Quilters. She's been doing a quilt a month for the Aussie Troops that are injured in Afgahnistan
Quilt back

Marilyn received these fabrics from her KK Wendy at our Christmas break up, and knew exactly what pattern she was going to make, this gorgeous Moonshine pattern.

Bronwyn's Double Irish Chain for her baby brother's stepson's baby boy ;-D
It was quilted by Desley using an allover star quilting pattern

Jo's Christmas runner
that she received at her friendship group. The theme was a
tablerunner exchange.

Robyn made this for herself for her bed.

Louise made this one for her bed.

Wendy's Japanese circles, she collected the fabric over a number of years
( 4 I think she said) Wendy didn't want to just put it into a square, so a few
curves, a little bit of sashiko and there you have it- stunning!.

There you have it ladies and gentlemen, some absolutely stunning show and tell.
If you're ever in or around Melbourne, it's not too far to come and visit us. If you don't
have a means of getting there and one of the girls is nearby I'm sure a lift can be arranged, just let
someone know. (we're a very laid back group of axe-murderers!!)

You're roving reporter Helen has been off galivanting in Tassie, something to do with her sister Sandra getting married, she was just 'slightly' excited (Hope you had a Fabulous time Helen!). She should be back next month if she didn't over do it.

Hope you enjoyed our Show and Tell

Your stand in roving reporter Ramona and
snap happy photographer Fran C.
